Last updated: February 2026
Introduction
Stop Brain Rot (“the app”) helps you block selected apps during focus periods using Apple’s Screen Time (Family Controls) APIs. This policy describes what data the app uses and where it is stored.

Data stored on your device
All data stays on your device (and in Apple’s systems where stated below):
- Blocks and app groups: Block names, times, days, and which apps are in each group are stored only on your device (in the app’s container and shared with the app’s extensions via an App Group).
- App selection (Screen Time): When you choose which apps to block, that selection is managed by Apple’s Family Controls framework and stored on your device. We do not receive or store this list on any server.
- Subscription status: If you subscribe, Apple processes the purchase. The app stores only whether you have an active subscription and a transaction identifier locally so it can unlock features. We do not receive your payment details or identity.
